sakon76Have caved in to peer pressure and gotten myself an LJ.
Was up studying late last night, and watching Rurouni Kenshin. Need episode breaks between rounds of Japanese vocabulary. To prove that this works, I aced my kanji test today. My Japanese Imperialism history test, however, I blew. Did not have the slightest clue about the actions of the Japanese within the South Pacific during the reign of the Taisho era. This is because I'm only thirty pages into book two (about Japan and the South Pacific) when I should be more like a hundred and twenty. This is also the book the teacher does not cover in class. I was praying that the essay question would be from class and the other book, with which I am current. Ah well. It was a calculated risk and I get to drop one of the three tests. I got 41/50 on the first test (highest score in the class) so I'm not overly worried. I decided the Fourth-Year Japanese and Age of the Samurai tests today were more important and I'm sticking by that decision. I don't get to drop a test in either of them. Classes this term, though, are decidedly reading-heavy.
While rewatching Kenshin, however, I had the odd phenomenon of disagreeing with the translator (Rika) over some areas of the translation. Thing is, we're on some of the same MLs, so I can't just ask people about whether I'm wrong or just mishearing things or whatnot. I'm distinctly not, however, used to this being able to argue with the translator thing. That's Melinda's schtick, or Jan's. Not mine.
Also started typing a bit on Lady Killer 12 to wind down after finally mastering my two pages (two columns each page) of kanji. A lovely scene flowed forth, perfect in style, form, and content. The only bloody problem? It's Ran and Aya-chan alone in the apartment at that point, and I need a third person for the commentary. Ken isn't *there*! He's off playing bodyguard for Akayuki at this point and incidentally getting mindfucked by Schuldich!! Grr. And I need the first part of the scene to be the teaser, so I can't just have the whole thing happen later, and I've already set that Ken, Omi, and Akayuki are all at the teahouse at that point. Grr. Need to consider what to do with this lovely scene that is what I need.
Off to fold laundry.
