Wonderful Husband and I went to see V For Vendetta today... we both liked, though I think I liked slightly more than he did. But then I think he was able to appreciate it a bit more than I was. ^_^ I definitely want it when it comes out on DVD. I'm also pondering getting the soundtrack, which I don't usually do.
Somehow we ended up with a slew of trailers, too. Over half of them we actually want to see! PotC 2, X-Men 3, Superman Returns, and I want to see Take The Lead. (It's a dance movie. It's me. 'Nuff said.) It's amusing how putting "based on the comic book by..." in front of a movie automatically increases the chances of us seeing it. As a corollary, though, "based on the video game by..." automatically decreases the chances. Because most vidgame movies are either horror or just plain bad, I figure. (One of the other trailers was for Silent Hill.) There was also a trailer for yet another remake of The Poseidon Adventure. Um, why? Fortunately it doesn't go for the terrorist-instead-of-rogue-wave that the Steven Guttenberg made-for-tv version did, but honestly I doubt anything in it other than the SFX budget can match and best the original. Gene Hackman as a preacher railing at God.... *sigh*
