One step forward, two steps back.

Yesterday at work I got a computer. It is so that I can start turning all the members and contracts into something resembling a database. In addition to phones, boxing cremains, taking first calls, organizing the sea scatterings, doing some billing, and dealing with whatever member checks, problems, or questions are given to me. Nonetheless, I managed to enter 133 files today. I was hoping for around 200, but the forms have changed several times over the years so I have to hunt around for the information I need, check for address updates, whatnot.
This is not bad until you consider that there are upward of 30,000 contracts. This figure does not include the people who are only members. And there are a couple of problems with the database form I've been given to use (like the comments needs to be the last thing to tab into, not the third, and comments need to be optional not required, for starters). I am dubious as to these problems can, or will, be fixed.
So, if over the next while I degenerate into a seething mass of abrasive hatred and loathing for my job, do not be surprised.
*hunts up resume; updates*
