Quick AX'05 summary
Jul. 4th, 2005 10:40 pmWe do not yet have the internet back, so I'm using fake internet to post this. ^^
AX was bigger than ever and busy. For once
hoshikage and I got away without taking a sewing machine to the con. It made our lives so much easier. Her report will probably be posted in a few days when she gets home, but for now here's my mini-report:
--survived the hotel losing our reservation (from what we heard we were not the only ones this happened to
--wore Sophia to my first-ever gathering (Last Exile) on Saturday morning. It was interesting.
--changed into Kirari afterward for more mobility
--went to the panel by Peach Pit, the creators of Rozen Maiden. Afterwards, rushed down to Dealer's Hall to get the anime artbook Wonderful Husband had spotted, and got it signed by them! *heart*
--Studio Pierrot panel was, as always, awesome
--two hoop skirts in one hotel room do not a lot of room create.
hoshikage and I both think each other's costume was better. We have agreed to disagree.
--was stopped in a hall by a Suzaku (from YamiEi) who pointed out to me that Range Murata (GoH and character designer for Last Exile) was on the patio *right there*. Waited for a few minutes, eventually got noticed, lots of Japanese people rushed in with cameras. I have pictures of myself with Murata-sensei and Koji Kajita, the president of Studio Gonzo. *fangirl moment* Pics will be posted when the internet becomes real again.
--survived Masquerade, was awarded runner-up for Best Expert and runner-up for Best Individual Construction. I lost out both times to the same person who had a fully-articulated fox head as part of their costume. I didn't mind. Their costume was awesome.
And those were my con highlights.
