Kyou wa ne.
May. 30th, 2003 01:01 amAlright, at this point technically it was *yesterday* but I haven't gone to bed yet, so it counts. So. Today.
Today I burned myself by accidentally touching a pan while making breakfast.
Today I scrubbed lots of pots and pans and cookie sheets and reorganized the cupboard where such things are kept, pulling out a lot of the old funky pans. We really have too many of them.
Today I came up with a brilliant idea for my belated anniversary gift to my parents.
Today I figured out costume stuff for the AX competition costume.
Today I recieved the main part of the wig for the AX competition costume.
Today I reread a bit of the YYH manga (volume 7), understanding a good deal more than I ever have before. Though I still have a long way to go until I'm fluent enough to get every word off the bat. Still, I agree with whoever said it, so long ago: Hiei wins for the most impressive kill, but Kurama wins by far for the *coldest*. Hiei is smart--he became allies with Kurama because he didn't want Kurama as an enemy. Neither would I. And, yay! Two Shots story with Maya! And the visual reference to Kenshin! *ahem* Not a fangirl. Really. All that reading about Japanese ghosts and kami? Research. Why don't you look like you believe me?
Also, sat down and watched the first disc of the MahouTsukaiTai TV series. Got through the doorways episode. I know I've seen up to the yosei Akane episode, but this was centered around the Japan trip, so it's been a couple of years. I'd forgotten how much fun the series was. Also remembering that when it was new and popular some group did a *perfect* set of the characters. Perfect character renditions by cosplayers are always a joy to behold. Also, Evil Crossover Idea #57: Weiss/MTT. Two redheads named "Aya," both surrounded by their fangirls, both voiced by Koyasu... there's a fic there somewhere. Probably a "this is just... *wrong*" fic, but a fic nonetheless.
Note to self: the fight with Ken happens in the first snowfall of the year. Very heavy snowfall? Chapter title: Yuki to no Tatakai (The Snowy Battle). Which is not *quite* a precise translation, but there are [punnish] nuances in both the English and Japanese that don't translate neatly to one another.
