Went again to the RenFaire yesterday with my mother and my cousins (Geoffrey, 14, and Emma, 10). Somehow it felt very very good to finally get to go in garb knowing that every single stitch I had on I'd sewn myself. No, there are no pictures of me. My mother also dressed up as did Emma. Geoffrey didn't, though he did co-opt my hat for most of the day. Probably a good thing as it made it much easier to keep track of him. I think I'm going to have to do newer garb for Emma next year though, probably in cotton gauze... like my mother she gets overheated very easily. By the end of the day she had shed a skirt and her bodice. ^^; It was also fun that the family resemblance was strong enough that everyone thought my mother was theirs as well. And complimentary, I guess, to my mother looking much younger than her age. If she's old enough to have a daughter my age, after all, it makes it a bit more problematic to having one Emma's age (18 years difference between us). But we watched Sound and Fury and some jousting and the court for a bit... cousins got introduced to the delights of turkey legs. And I got tea and vanilla beans but overall behaved myself in the spenditure area. And now, off to work.
