*rolls eyes*
Jan. 8th, 2005 04:54 pmI've mentioned that my family is attempting to purchase one of the paving stones between Disneyland and the Disney California Adventure theme parks in memory of my grandfather, who (1) worked on Disneyland for a year before it opened, and (2) was the chief engineer on the ABC broadcast for opening day. The Disneyland Walk of Magical Memories has called us back to say that the "Harold Huntsman / June 17, 1955 / Disneyland USA" wording is not acceptable to them because "Disneyland" is a corporate name.
Disneyland does not want "Disneyland" on a paving stone between the Disneyland parks.
WTF?!
I've turned it over to my uncle, who is going to try to talk some sense into them. My father (who is, like Grandpa, a television engineer for ABC, which is now owned by Disney) is going to write a letter to Michael Eisner, whom he met the other day, explaining the situation and history.
