So it's official. I didn't get the job I was interviewing for. Somehow at the moment I'm not even too upset about it. I knew it was coming. I just wish I was employable for something other than base-level customer service stuffs, though. I mean, one of my references (who has been my supervisor at two different jobs, ten years ago and now) basically told them they'd be fools not to hire me. Whatever my faults, I am competent. I type fast, learn faster, am computer-literate, detail-oriented, and phone-savvy. I have no problem dealing with people. Why, then, am I so unemployable?

There. Five-minute rant over now. Bed, and then back to job-hunting in the morning.

Competency doesn't count for shit these days, nor does a degree, sadly... everyone wants experience... You saw how long it took me to get a job after I got my nursing license... I know I'm just your crappy little sister... but my best advice would be to start at the bottom and work your way up... it's the only way to get anywhere anymore... so if you have to, take a receptionist or customer service job for the time being... and keep your eyes/ears open for advancement opportunities... once you've established yourself with a company, they'll be more likely to promote... most companies seem to like to promote from within and fill the lesser job... it's cheaper in the long run... :)
