Am sorting fabric both bought and inherited, by type (silk, velvet, satin, calico, sheer) but also by use (heavy, medium, and light). Am discovering a lot of lovely pieces, but also a lot of "augh! shield your eyes!" stuff. The latter is actually more fun--people actually thought this was fashionable? I'm keeping some of the garish pieces for sewing. Fashion isn't nearly as much fun if you take all the tack out of it.
