Popcorn purity
Feb. 11th, 2003 01:30 pmI sit here munching a bowl of popcorn. It is good popcorn. It was made in a pot on the stove by myself not five minutes ago. I do not believe in microwave popcorn. I consider myself a popcorn purist. And it's good. Simple yet elegant, with just a tiny bit of mess, the faint shimmer and slide of oil on my fingers as I munch.
Missed three and a half questions out of twenty on my kanji quiz this morning. But that wasn't too bad considering I just started studying last night, ended up going to bed around 2am [study/watch Tylor/study/watch Tylor/study/watch Tylor...] and miraculously (after defeating both beep-beep-beep alarm and CD alarm which currently has Bon Jovi's Crush album set to wake me up)yabked myself out of bed an hour before class and miraculously managed to not only get dressed and leave on time, but also get my grandmother dressed, feed the dog, the bettas, and make a non-cereal breakfast for the both of us.
Did I mention that it's raining in SoCal? I made it on time even factoring in the idiot drivers in the rain factor.
My second class was Industrial Japan, the one I threw the test in last week. For some reason, today was the longest most boring lecture I've had this year. The teacher bounces from one factoid to another without actually managing to connect them or make in indentation whatsoever in my memory. I swear, I live in that class for the five-ten minutes she plays video from the "The Pacific Century" video series. She also handed back our tests at the end of class. After a five-minute explanation of how she graded them. Which she explained before the test. And after the last one. And *before* the last one. Grrrrrrrrrr. But though I did not do the essay, the geography section I nailed. ^^ I wrote a line or two in the class and also finally figured out how to start a non-fanfiction project that I've had on the mental back burner for a while. Hmm, yeah, if I start it *that* way and link these other characters in like *that*... ahh, that makes much more sense now!
I also need to box and mail fiance's Valentine's gift. And purchase yen to hand to Starshadow on Thursday. And study for my midterm tonight.
