Splishsplash

Since we're kitten-sitting, and the bigger cats have decided they don't like Rey (no surprise; strange kitten in THEIR household!), the kitten is getting shut in the shower room at night. Which does have the side effect of making it unavailable to us, especially since her food/water/litterbox/bed are set up in the shower. So last night, for the first time, the remodelled master bath got used for something other than Squiddle's baths.

In short, I think we picked a good showerhead. ^_^ We may need a liner shower curtain, though. The pretty decorative one doesn't adhere well to wet wall; water can get beyond it onto the floor.

Whee. He doesn't do these often, but this morning Squiddle had a screaming fit about not having a poopy diaper (patently untrue) and just now a full-blown meltdown about not taking a nap (also patently wrong).

Fortunately I am still taller, stronger, and possessed of more patience.

Also fortunately, he does not yet possess the manual dexterity to unlatch the gate across his bedroom door.

All is now quiet. Squiddle is napping. Mummy wins.

Turning of the Terms

Tonight, told my writing class that I won't be back in September, and why. Namely that the class starts up again ten days after my due date. (Given that I fully anticipate needing a C-section again, though I do plan to try going through labor again, I am expecting I will not be in a physical condition to attend, let alone a state of sufficient mental acuity. New babies, and parental adjustments, tend to be somewhat distracting.) Everyone was happy and supportive, but only one person said she'd noticed I'd been wearing loose clothing to class. Acumen fail on the part of my classmates. :) I did promise to stop in at some point in the fall term with both my boys in tow.

And the class's first summer meet-up got planned. Unfortunately, for the weekend of Comic-Con. Ah well; perhaps I'll be able to make the second, which will be sometime in August.

So one quarter ends. And next week another begins, for Squiddle's classes, at least. And one evening class for Wonderful Husband.
