Adventure Had For The Day.
May. 18th, 2008 09:43 amPfeh. That was fun. Not.
Wonderful Husband is flying out to Florida today for a conference that lasts most of the week. His flight was supposed to leave from our local airport (Santa Ana) at nine am, so we got up early and I drove him over there at about half past seven. I parked to see him off, and good thing too. Turns out his flight was cancelled with no replacement. So he gets on his cellphone to Continental and they manage to reschedule him on another pair of flights to Orlando... except that now he's leaving from LAX. This is the part where me having parked became rather good. So off we zoomed to LAX, a trip which involved fortunately rather light traffic but unfortunately a sudden tires-smoking narrowing of the 405 from five lanes to two. But we survived, no dings, no dents, no disasters, and arrived at LAX in time for us to park, him to check in, and me to see him through the security checkpoint.
I informed him that this was his adventure of the trip and he heartily agreed.
Off to get dressed up and go to the last day of RenFaire....
EDIT: Wonderful Husband just called to say that his flight's delayed. Let's just sum it up with we're not best pleased with Continental....
