Making the best of the little things
May. 7th, 2007 08:18 amWell, got most stuff done yesterday... got the first of two kimono mostly cut out (need to stop at the store after work to pick up another yard and a quarter of the fabric because the fabric was an inch narrower than advertised and thus I can't even piece together the collar from it), and Wonderful Husband is working on the hakama. Got our signs for Fanime laminated, and much as Wonderful Husband wasn't impressed by the laminating job at our local copy shop, he's equally umimpressed by the job that Kinko's did on these, but que sera sera. Tomatoes got staked, car got marginally cleaned, and I tried out a trio of new recipes from the newest Cuisine At Home magazine. Plus got up this morning and washed dishes from said recipes, so the kitchen is once again returned to cleanliness. And now in to another day at work. Feel the enthusiasm.
But! I have embroidery to take with me and do at "lunch," leftovers from last night to comprise said lunch, dried squid snacky things to gross out my coworkers with ("Want to try a tentacle?"--I expect this to get great reactions), fabric shopping to do on the way home, sewing to do once I get here, and then another new recipe to try for dinner tonight. So, really, life ain't too bad.
