Jul. 21st, 2004 12:12 pmHave been going through wigcraft tutorials (fun!). Have also taken to experiment with the Evil Black Lining Fabric strips. Good news: it takes to ruffling like a duck to water. Bad news: it abhors the mere thought of being hemmed. Which means I get to fall back to the old stand-by used for the Crinoline of Cute. Namely, picking up one or two of those 100-yard spools of ribbon (in black this time) next time I happen to be near the fabric district, ironing it in half (bleh, the tedium), and sewing it over the raw edges of the finished project. Also discovered one of my two ruffler feet seems to've stopped working. Fortunately, at one point when I took my machine in for a tune-up it still had the (now non-functional) foot on it. The guy behind the counter took a look, said it was a crap foot and asked me who sold it to me (um, *them*...) and gave me the second (still working) one for free. ^^
