Hmm. Have got eight pages single-spaced in Word on the first chapter of the origwork, which means sixteen if I put it into regular format. Thinking I'll end it where it is (even though it's not really an endpoint) and go on to chapter two. I know already that I'll need to come back and do massive editing (*this* doesn't go here, but I don't know where it does, and *that* character is being very repetitive and changing her characterization frequently, while *that* info probably doesn't come up yet... etcetera), but I won't know what I need to edit or write until I get further in. Further up and further in, as C.S. Lewis wrote once. Get to introduce Kitty in chapter two, which is a good thing. Maybe she'll stabilize the story somewhat, as I've been working with her for years in a different original universe, and am thus much more familiar with her.

Mwaha! Two more pages on the origwork and I like them! They flow well and feel strong, which of course means that in about three chapters I'm going to think they utterly suck. But huzzah! Writing has been accomplished. Yes, I know I'm making too much of a deal about this, but I figure if I keep my mood up I'll be able to keep going. Am actually trying to use the method/philosophy I learned in screenwriting classes of "write to the next high point." Right now I'm writing scenes setting up each particular cool moment, and it seems to be making for stronger writing because I'm enjoying where I'm getting to with each goal, not just slogging through a quota of text to write each day. (Current quota: three pages single-spaced.)

Trying to find a particular HikaGo fic... starts at an away tournament, Akira gets slightly drunk, kisses Hikaru, Hikaru has disappeared back to Tokyo by the time Akira wakes up the next morning, goes after Hikaru, finds him in a cemetary, Hikaru has no clue about sexuality, more kisses, and at least with Go Hikaru had other people to practice with, so Akira decides to wait for him (to get a clue). Anyone know a title/author for this one?
