Had friends over tonight. Haven't seen Laura in ages, we talked cosplay and relationships and Monday's her birthday so I invited her over and will cook dinner for her and John. Tuesday I cook a nice romantic belated anniversary dinner for my parents. And today I baked an apple pie (my mother peeled the apples for me while I cored and sliced them), the crust of which turned out disappointing as the contents fell while cooking. Maybe I should stick to mini apple pies? Also made whipped cream to go on top, of course.

Sewing room got cleaned up a bit and I acquired the fabric for belt and strap edging for competition costume. Still need red ribbon fabric and white Balina solid. The closest of my three local JoAnn's was out--must go explore the possibilities inherent in the other two.

It's a bit of an odd feeling when you go to add someone to your friends page and notice for the first time that people whom you do not know have listed you as a friend. You're like "where did they come from? How did they find me?" Upon reflection, they're probably friends of friends and I should be flattered they find my LJ interesting enough to read. Still, a bit of a Twilight Zone/stalker moment. ^^;;

Dreamt of a wedding last night. Not my wedding, it was far too bit for that, but a wedding. I don't know why I was a guest at it, or even whose it was, and I don't know why I saw the entire thing from Hobbit-height, but it was fun.

Stayed up in the wee hours sewing on the blue 14th century dress I've had half-finished for a while. Now it's three-quarters finished. Want to make another sideless surcoat after this out of some asymmetrically striped fabric I have, will see how that goes. Cosplay partner will likely be pissed at me for sewing on stuff other than anime costumes, but I am *not* starting in on sewing competition costume at midnight. I need daylight for that one.

Have acquired red for ribbons (peachskin solid) and white Ballina solid. Go me! The only fabric I still need is a *light* flesh-colored swimsuit lining material. Plan to check third store for that tomorrowish.

Have also borrowed sister's _The Two Towers_ DVD for late-night costume research as I sit and sew stuff by hand. Am fairly sure there will be stuff to hand-sew. There always is.

Off to make kanji flashcards now.
