Aug. 4th, 2004 11:18 pmEvery Sunday morning, so that he can have the car while I'm at work and do errands or whatever, Wonderful Husband drives me to work. We stop at a donut shop (Friendly Donuts) on the way and generally have the same thing each week, a donut and hot chocolate apiece and call it breakfast and our incentive for getting up in the morning. We go in around the same time and I'm always dressed in my work clothes. This Sunday we got going late so we didn't stop on the way to work. He offered to go and bring the usual back to me at work, but I wasn't bothered. So he goes in and the lady behind the counter asks him where his sister is.
I'm blonde and he's dark-haired; our body builds are very different. We're both Caucasian with blue eyes, but the similarity ends there.
He corrects her, letting her know that I'm his wife, not his sister. She asks if we both immigrated at the same time (Wonderful Husband having a British accent).
Apparently I don't speak much while in the donut shop....
I've finished the poinsettia tablecloth I was working on, and have made a huge list of the stuff I need to do tomorrow. Most of it having to do with paperwork, especially since the INS has given us our next interview date (I get to go with to this one) for his legal status adjustment. Being a government agency, they have of course scheduled it for his sister's birthday, when his family will be in the country and we were supposed to go to Sea World with them that day... ah well. Que sera sera.
