Met [livejournal.com profile] inu_chan, [livejournal.com profile] trinsan and [livejournal.com profile] sihaya_chan yesterday. Was fun. Today, costuming and then work and then probably more costuming. With luck I'll be able to finish the goldwork on Mandi's jumpsuit and thigh-highs this w/e. Still need to figure out how to make the oversized screw heads, though. :/

Large screw + bolt cutter. I make earrings out of the screwheads, myself.

Trust me, they're out there. :) That's if you're lusting after accuracy. At this point, it might be time for Sculpey to make an appearance, though.

If they're out there, Home Depot doesn't carry them. We probably will end up going the Sculpey route, though. Hmm. How easy is Sculpey to hand-sew through? :)

Sculpey hardens into PVC plastic. Not happenin'.

Hmm. Maybe if I pierce small holes in it before it dries...? Or, of course, I could always just sew across the groove in the screwhead with lots and lots of invisible thread.

How about gluing the screw to the fabric itself, or to a piece of tough fabric and sewing that fabric down? I think if you laid a thread across the line in the screw, the screw would just slip out as your fabric flexes.

/me votes Paperclay. Easier to work with than Sculpey (IMHO), and you just can't beat it for the lightweight factor after drying...

I agree. Or Delight, if anyplace around you carries it. Very lightweight when dry, and you can poke holes in it while it's drying.
