'Net was wonky all yesterday. Leaving tonight to start the trek north to Fanime. Tossed hundreds more at car yesterday. Need to buy makeup today. And got turned down by a temp agency yesterday (one, which incidentally, I have worked for in the past) because "they don't deal with entry-level office workers" and "I don't have any recent experience." This without even bothering to look at my resume. Which the receptionist wouldn't even take until I flat-out told her I'd worked through them before. 'Scuse me, I have two BAs hanging on my wall, I know my way around any number of word processing programs, I can multi-task and coordinate the skills of others with ease, at least LOOK at the piece of paper before showing me the door. *fume* I don't mind being told they don't have work for me, but I'd prefer they actually considered my qualifications first.

Right. Off to fold laundry and pack.

On the plus side, I wouldn't be too burned up about not working at a place like that. For instance, aren't you glad you're experiencing their bureaucratic uffishness NOW, rather then say, when dealing with a paycheck problem? "Our computer says the check was sent out. No, I'm not going to double check. No, we don't issue new ones. Have a NICE day."
