May. 13th, 2004 08:47 pmThere are two herbs past experience has shown that I apparently cannot grow. Dill and cilantro. Anyone have any handy tips or tricks for dealing with these two?
My grandmother is now living in a nursing home, in a ward for those with Alzheimer's or senior dementia. My mother and I went through a couple of the drawers in one of her bureaus today. We found a lot of pictures (in some of them, compared to photographs of myself at the same age, my mom and I could be identical twins) and old letters. We found stamps and coins. We found lingerie in wonderful condition that we estimate was from the '40s. Some of it had us wishing we could wear it. (My grandmother, at her tallest, was 8" shorter than I am. My mother, while similarly short, is pleasantly plump.) On the suggestion of my husband, I intend to at least photograph some of the pieces for design ideas. We also found a ton of nice handkerchiefs and pretty scarves. And we found old leather gloves. I have never in my life wished so badly that my hands were petite.
