Wonderful Husband and I went to the Final Fantasy concert in LA this evening. It was very nice. As I am not a vidgamer, I did not have any mental images that the music was pre-attached to and thus made use of it to prompt images and scenes for the novel, hastily scribbled down into my sketchbook. Met up with [livejournal.com profile] tokyo_kitty afterwards and she and her BF and WH went up to Wild Thyme in Pasadena for post-concert nibbles. Was fun, though they'd closed their kitchen about forty minutes early (they were supposed to be open until eleven! I *called* just at ten!) Still, we had dessert crepes. All in all a nice evening.

There is a car often seen in the parking lots where we live. It is cute. A silver Ford Focus, its license plate is "I (heart) GEEKZ."

There have recently been anti-racism posters up that I just don't get: "I find that Puerto Rican guy to be very level-headed." In a situation where the person being spoken about is one of several possibilities, what is wrong with using nationality as an identifier? I had a moment of clarity about why it's wrong, but that was weeks ago and I fall back to not understanding why any kind of determinator is wrong so long as the intent is clean. And the context of the example sentence, being complementary, seems clean to me.
