Writers who do not write in their native language and fail to have their stories checked by someone native to the language in which they *are* writing.
Mary Sues and Marty Stus.

Authors who have mastered the English language and its use in storytelling.
Authors who do research and use that research in their writing.
Story chapters posted once a week, where having to wait that week for the reader is like slowly drawn-out agony.
