ComicCon has just sent out an e-mail which basically boils down to "save your 2013 badge because otherwise you cannot preregister for 2014."

Guess who here is Not Happy about this? That's right. Me, who cannot go and pick up my 2013 badge because of Actual Medical Reasons.

I've fired off an e-mail to the con outlining why I cannot physically attend and is there any way my husband can pick up my badge so I can at least preregister for next year?

If I end up being penalized because I cannot go, I am going to be So. Pissed. Off.

That is nasty. So they are basically saying, if you have never been or didn't come in 2013, you can't preregister.

If you could, I'd be appreciative. Because even though this is probably meant to keep people from passing their badges on to others, it really does penalize those of us who found out at the (relative) last moment that we couldn't attend.

Sure thing! Could you forward me the email they sent you? Just so I have it. (As volunteer staff, I'm pretty much assumed to be going every year unless I tell one of my dept heads otherwise, so I didn't get that email sent to me.)

If D. is picking up at least his badge, then he should be able to pre-reg both of you. If he decides to stay home with you, we may be able to fit you both in our crowdsource. In the past they've let one person buy badges for up to three people.

Oh, and if D. does decide to stay home, but if they will let someone else pick up for you I'd be happy to pick up your badge and send it down. Just let me know.

Do you have medical note stating distance travel is prohibited? I can see ComicCon asking for such proof that you have A Medical Reason to not be attending, after previously registering.
