Yesterday morning I did a run of five estate sales and four thrift stores. I spent a grand total of $7. ^_^;; I can't decide if that means the shopping Force was with me or not. I was very amused at the one sale where everything in the entire house was new. Agressively new. Even the stuff out in the (carpeted) garage, which is where people usually keep old/junky claptrap. It gave me a little insight into why Old Money families traditionally look a bit askance at the Nouveau Riche.

The blood pressure machine at Rite-Aid said my BP was 127/79. So I'm within spitting distance of acceptable, and I haven't even been watching my sodium intake recently! (Wonderful Husband took his right after me and his numbers were ~20 lower for both systolic and diastolic. Grr. I must do better.) I suspect going to the gym (546 calories burned last night!) is helping.

And we watched episode 4 of Once Upon A Time. I'm not sure if the writing was too blunt and blatant, comparing one becoming-a-mother to another. And, really, I can't lay everything at Rumplestilskin's feet. He told Cinderella that magic always has a price (which, fortunately, she finally seemed to take the lesson later on!), and she was the one who (1) wanted to do things the fast and easy way, and (2) didn't read the contract. Very Ariel-and-Ursula-esque moment there. So it's her own fault, and at least she realized it. Still, the pieces of the fairytale world are starting to come together, and the conflation of the two stories (Cinderella and Rumplestilskin) was handled quite well, I think. Wonderful Husband and I are guessing (given the large silver star on her cellphone dangly) that Emma's codename is going to be something like Fairy Godmother. And the end point... I have suddenly lost a great deal of my liking for the Sheriff. I wonder if what he's playing at with the job offer is indeed his own game, or if it's merely another extension of Regina's plotting?

Hmm, interesting episode. I loved the elephant people's short memories frustrating Grune. I loved that the twins got an actual non-comedic moment/ conversation, and that El Dora got brought up again. I have the feeling they're all going to need to go there for whatever reason. And I loved the fact that, hey, actual emotion going on with the characters. The writers seem to turn that on and off. And Tygra had an actual tactical point! The backstory between him and Cheetara was sweet, though it honestly feels a trifle retconned. I suppose, though, that it was never stated he hadn't met her before... only that Lion-O really hadn't. I wonder if Tygra was already adopted at that point? And I wonder if he knew it was her in that golden "Are you flirting?" moment in the first episode? Cheetara definitely also had a point that part of why things have always been rough between Lion-O and Tygra is that the latter has always been in the former's shadow. The two of them going together into a "place where thoughts become reality"? Is SO not going to go well. Given that the ugly Mumm-Ra birdie snuck in as well, I'm hoping that Anet's vision of Tygra's imminent betrayal is going to be part of Tygra having a cunning plan or something; I really don't think he's stupid enough to pull an Anakin and go over to the dark side. But, hey, I've been wrong before and next episode will be the last of the first story arc....
