Okay, the theory of only even-numbered episodes being good has been proven false. Episode 7, "Legacy," is a good one.

Wow, we actually learn how the book works (though how it previously being a starship's OS works I dunno, but hey, magic/tech hybrid world handwave). I had been betting they'd either need to find a blacklight scanner to read the book, or that it was written in braille and they'd need Lynx-O. AND we get our answers about that little history snippet that came up last episode! I was expecting that to be dragged out for a while longer, so I'm impressed.

So, they're all aliens to Third Earth. Interesting. I liked the passing shout out to TigerSharks, which was one of the original series' spin-offs; pity SilverHawks wasn't also given a nod. I really liked Leo's girlfriend. Did we ever get her name? I want to know who she was voiced by; she was giving me strong flashbacks to Cree Summers as Blackarachnia. Wonderful Husband and I were both charmed by the fact that she was taller than Leo. I also note that she had a tail! I'm still pondering the significance of that in Cat culture. The spaceship design and the armored fight was all very Gundam-y. Except Gundam series actually tend to be properly appreciative of, oh, the effects of punching holes in the hull of things in outer space....

And, wow, Lion-O's right, of course, but man he does not think small in his plans. Bringing all the peoples of Third Earth together to fight Mumm-Ra? Well, I guess we know it's been managed once before, why not again?

ETA: HA! I was right! It was Cree Summers voicing Panthera!

L-LOL I've not watched any of the show yet, so I've been trying not to spoil myself (and, heh, rather failing, but hey), but I clicked on this to skim anyway and . . . one word caught my attention: SilverHawks.

Yeah, what exactly is up with some of the cats having tails and others (most of them) not? I really hope that gets explained at some point.

Also, the forging of the sword gave me happy LotR flashbacks.

Apparently (and I am hearing this secondhand off TVTropes, so take that as you will) show creators have said cats without tails are the upper class and cats with tails are considered lower class, the rabble, the "common" folk. Which would explain Kat and Kit's impoverished origin somewhat, and the harsh reaction they got from the guy they robbed. (Waiting on that hypno-flute to make another appearance, that seems like a handy trick...)

I am really curious how deeply the stratification went; it's hinted only lions can be the rulers, too. What little I can glean of the feline caste system reminds me of that in India.

In looking for Tygra screencaps in order to make an icon to go with this comment, I discover that Tygra is ADOPTED. Whoops. Bother. ^^; Oh well.

Anyway, eeeee! Yes Panthera being taller was fantastic! And tailed! Lions get to be king because they have the best hair? ::runs::

I was so disappointed when I found out Tygra was adopted. Him and Lion-O as half brothers appealed far more to me for some reason. Especially since the show hasn't really done anything since the first episode with their siblancy other than that one throw-away line about "I'm still older!" The first episode set up such a wonderful nasty/borderline abusive sibling relationship between them, and the concept of them as brothers seems to've been mostly erased/forgotten as far as their interaction since.

Yeah, I liked the twins a lot too. Have to admit, though, that Copper Kid was my favorite. Then again, I've ALWAYS had a soft spot for the "runt of the litter" - until fairly recently (within the past 5 years or so), I've always seemed to go for the sidekick characters or the smallest/weakest/youngest of a cast.

::nodnod:: I've been building this whole lion harem scenario...cats, y'know... and Claudus being a generous friend and king and sharing... and something about the crown going to the youngest child because the monarch is supposed to rule long and well... and Tygra being groomed for general/chief bodyguard as is customary... And dammit I want them to be brothers brothers. This might be the fastest I've been Jossed, but I can't remember for sure... ^^;

So another AU fic on my hands. Go figure. Characterization as I want it, not as it is particularly in canon. Alas. Been rewatching all the eps from the beginning this evening. XD Thunderium = dark energon + engine crystals from the Draenei ship in WoW... XDDD

Hmmm. Smallest/weakest/youngest generally irritated me because as a kid I felt that character was SUPPOSED to be the one I liked best/related to. Usually don't care much for Our Hero, either. ^^; Oh well.

Heh, true. That went over my head, personally. XD;;; I've always been the short one, the small one, the weak one, the odd-man-out, so on a personal level, it's always appealed to me to see the little guy keeping up with everyone else and being part of the team instead of just the one everyone allows to tag along, and puts up with, because they have to. 9,9 LOL I've never been much for Our Hero either. XD;;; Until Yu-Gi-Oh!, oddly enough. Yami was my very first lead-guy love, but he's got a LOT of qualities I really relate to, so... *shrugs* XD
