Feet, Down Below Its Nee(dle)s

sakon76So in something of a lightbulb moment, I remembered that I had some inherited sewing machine feet in the deep drawer of my sewing desk, and decided to see what they were.
Aside from the ones I bought and use myself for Lilo, I found five boxes of feet.
Now, two of them are for Touch and Sews (and several miscellaneous feet got repatriated to those boxes) and are thus of no Earthly use to me as my grandmother's T&S is broken and merely residing in the cabinet. (I didn't have the multiple hundreds of dollars I was told several years ago it would take to repair it.) There is also a box of Greist feet, which implies that one of my grandmothers at some point owned a Greist machine. Also useless to me ATM since the attachment is completely unsuited to Singers.
But then there are a half-dozen feet that actually fit Maggie. So she now has a ruffler foot and a binder foot and four for which I've yet to identify their purpose. There was also a manual for a Singer 201-2 Electric Sewing Machine, with a purchase receipt from 1971 and a repair receipt from 1977, both with my mother's name on them. Mom, you still have this machine? Want its manual back? And possibly its feet?

Date: 2011-08-08 11:42 am (UTC)I have a large assortment of mystery feet for vintage Singers, and someday I would love to figure out what they are and what they do. The only thing I'm pretty sure about is that none of them are zipper feet.
