Apparently my evening turned into an episode of Cops. Because while the strawberry ice cream was churning, whoopwhoop! went a siren from in front of our house where two streets meet in a "V". I got to the window in time to see someone bolt from the passenger side of the SUV coming to a stop in front of two cop cars. And Wonderful Husband and I first made sure our doors were all locked and then continued watching, more and more cop cars arrived and the driver and back seat passenger were instructed to get out of the vehicle and arrested. And as the K9 unit with like six backup officers went to the carport and presumably back yard of the house the guy bolted toward, two doors over.
Not sure if they've found the guy who bolted or not, but given that it apparently takes ten cop cars plus the helicopter to deal with one SUV, suddenly that final chase scene in Blues Brothers is looking less silly.

Tracking or apprehension? :D */fangirl* (My guest puppy has totally renewed my appreciation for police dogs and police dog trainers- her momma is a drug dog and she would really like to grow up to be a police dog instead of a schutzhund dog, as then she'd be allowed to grab legs instead of just paded sleeves....)
