Title: Fiddler Fair
Author: Mercedes Lackey
Length: 258 pages
A collection of some of Lackey's short stories, this was a much better read than Flights of Fantasy. Ranging from playing-in-others'-sandboxes to hmm-this-sounds-vaguely-familiar-from-one-of-her-series to pieces all shiny and new to me, all the stories were at least decent reads. My favorite, hands down, was her Lawrence of Arabia story. And though a thread of feminism runs through many of the stories (most blatantly, yet perhaps best, in Dumb Feast), it's never strident enough to be irritating, thank goodness.
Verdict: Recommended. This anthology I'm gonna keep.
