Win Screens
Jul. 17th, 2010 08:18 pmSo, SoCal is in the middle of a heatwave right now. As in I look at the thermostat and it's 89 degrees at the moment. Yesterday is was 94 at this time. So I suggested to Wonderful Husband that we head over to Lowe's and see if they (1) have a screen door we could put on the patio door, and (2) screening that we could use to fix the front screen door, which has had a inconveniently cat-sized hole since we moved in. And indeed they had both.
Unfortunately... the patio-sized door did not fit in Wonderful Husband's car.
Fortunately... we only live a mile from the store.
So he walked the thing the whole way home in 90+ degrees sun. Sans hat. He did comment that all he needed was a skateboard and he could've used the thing as a sail.
After recovery, we poked and tweaked and installed it. Then my parents came over for dinner and afterward the front door came down and was laid out and rescreened with silver aluminum screening (to admit slightly more light and be slightly stronger/more cat-deterrent.
The kitties very much enjoy the increased breeze from the patio screen door, but the magical disappearance of their personal exit door in the front seems to have confused them
