Iroiro na mono
Feb. 25th, 2003 12:32 pmI have been ficcing. Finally got started on the next HikaGo fic. The line that begins the fic, for those interested, is "The way they had sex was like the way they played Go." Originally the line was the other way around, but I think it works better with sex being compared to Go rather than Go being compared to sex. Scene one: sex. Scene two: irony. Scene three: angst. The title of the piece, BTW, is "Secrets." I've also kept working on the YamiEi fic. At least I *think* it's the same fic. Have written two pages today of Hisoka angsting about pain and trauma and wondering if his rape and subsequent [amnesiatic] alienation from sexuality will cause problems if his relationship with Tsuzuki proceeds to that level. Being the onmiscient author, I can say "Yes. But not in the way you expect." Mwahaha. Being evil to characters is cathartic. Rewatched the first six episodes last night--three subtitled on DVD [I am strongly suspecting they used the dub script as the subtitles, but have not been willing to brave the dub to find out for sure, as what I have heard of it in trailers is *horrid*.] and three raw on tape.
It's raining in SoCal again. Which is nice. I like the rain. It's soothing. It's also cold, cutting even through jeans and a flannel shirt. Me, I am temperature wuss girl, I guess. Got my third quiz back in my class on Imperial Japan. 46/50, once again with a perfect on style, though she wrote a comment that the ending was a bit weak. Of course it was weak! If I'd had five more minutes it might've been decent, but all of a sudden there were two minutes left of the forty and I had to rush to tie things up. Grr. Ah well. I suspect mine was the highest grade in the class again.
Best friend should be back in the country by now. Considering whether to call her tonight or not and let her get over jetlag and back into school life.
I also have an appointment with my academic counselor today. I need to check that I've already filled a requirement that states "must have taken a class about an East Asian country other than that of your major"--I'm not sure if my general class in Buddhism counts or not--and to make sure taking three classes next term will take care of the rest of my creditary needs. Plus see if I can get her to write a letter so that I have the chance of getting financial aid again next term.
Also--tickets have arrived! For Nick Carter concert next week with Kise-chan. Must ask history prof. if I can take the quiz early or something....
And, perhaps most importantly, today is my mother's birthday. I hope her present arrives today....
