Situational Irony

Well, the kitten is healthy, disease-free, dewormed, and has been given his shots. Consequently he now has the free run of the house. Paris, I think, took to the upstairs landing yesterday evening to escape him for a bit. Since I'm not sure that Sushi's yet figured out that pesky "stairs = going up" thing.
Had dance class last night. I remain firm in my belief that Wonderful Husband's waltz is divine. Some dances he and I just click with; swing is one, the waltz is another. The current class is covering foxtrot (meh), tango (whee!), and waltz (*float*). After class, I gardened for a bit, discovering that a cat (probably Paris) had dug around in the loose mulch on the bed under the stairs and in the process buried one of my snow pea plants! Dug the poor little plant out, watered it, and started in on planting that bed, on the theory that if there are things growing in it the cats won't be able to lounge around in it as easily. (Which I hate anyway because then Paris gets dust and straw and cocoa hulls all over her coat and tracks them indoors, grr.) So now I have a half-dozen summer squash plants in the ground there and will probably put the half-dozen Swiss chard plants in this evening. And maybe the pak choi....
Washed dishes after it got too dark to garden anymore, bleached the sink (for odd reasons I like bleaching the sink; it smells harsh but it's so fun to just watch the stains vanish!), showered, embroidered a bit (finished off another color, yay!), and went to bed late as always. Yet despite being relatively drained of physical and emotional energy, I feel better than I have for most of the week. Maybe feeling drained is why I feel better? Or maybe it's because I don't have to stress about keeping the cats separate, and the dishes are all washed and the laundry is going, lessening weekend time commitments? (Which is good because I need the weekend for something else.)
In any case, the Orange County Fair starts tomorrow and I took a gander at the competition entry forms and they have a class for cross-stitch entries. Maybe if I ever finish the world map piece I can enter it next year....
