I have finished the bloody petticoat. Except for resewing every seam after I get ribbon to finish 'em with. Minor detail, that.

So I have moved on to (as a break from endless white) making a quick chemise for the RenFaire this year. It's a lovely dusty pale green.

Last night the OCMC (restaurant where I work) closed at 11:00. We had a call from a guy the manager calls "Rock Star Guy" asking for a reservation at 10:30. He then called *at* 10:30, wanting to put his order in because he was only "five minutes away." He incidentally claimed to be a Hollywood producer. No clue if he really is or not. In any case, I waited for him to show up. And waited. Finally it was five minutes until closing, so I turned the sign off, put the menus away, basically closed down the front. I went back to the servers' station to make sure there were no more menus there, came back up to the front, and there he was, at 11:00, with his date. I have to say, "Rock Star Guy" fits him as an appellation. Not only does he arrive late, but he looks and acts the part. So I sigh and take out two menus, taking him into the restaurant. There were still two other tables eating, but he didn't want to be seated near them or the kitchen because of the noise. So I let him have the table at the far end of the restaurant as he wanted, washed my hands of the affair, and went home. The only word which comes to mind to describe such a person is "character." Either that or "caricature." Not sure which

Eric was reading me an article about Keanu Reeves-- why it is that even though he's not a spectacular actor, he's very popular in Hollywood.
Director says about him: "He doesn't show up drunk, or hungover. He shows up with his lines memorized, and if there were scene changes he has those memorized, too. AND HE DOES WHAT HE'S TOLD."

It's sad that what is baseline minimum good behavior in the real world is model citizenship in Hollywood.

The rockstar dude sounds like a twit. He's probably lying through his teeth to impress his date. If you're a producer, why aren't you eating in Beverly Hills? Shit, I've eaten at a restaurant there and I'm just a Sandy.
