Title: By Slanderous Tongues
Author: Mercedes Lackey and Roberta Gellis
Now that Mercedes Lackey's writing has recovered somewhat from the jumping the sharkness it exhibited a few years back, I like reading her works again. I do note with amusement, though, what percentage of them are now cowritten. Still, anyone who can learn from their mistakes, I respect. And I do love this Elizabethan elves series, mainly because it is researched. Unfortunately, this, the third entry in the series, leaves off with Elizabeth at 15 and no notes on Lackey's site about more books in the series. Um, the story/struggle isn't done yet! On the other hand, I actively cheered at the point in this book where the main four non-human characters finally sat down and formed a tentative alliance. Finally! So, I highly recommend this one and its two prequels to anyone who likes historical fantasy. I'm well satisfied with it, and only wish the next one was out already.
