Creativity Refresh/Reboot

So, a good trawl through the LA fabric district with
hoshikage apparently tends to net several results. One is lunch at Wild Thyme, which is always a good thing. Another is leather in varying blues for her and varying pinks for me, with both of us intending to use it for corsets. A third is being jazzed and re-energized on sewing projects in general and costuming in particular.
So, looking forward through 2008, things I want to make outfits for include:
SoCal RenFaire, April 5th through May 18th - okay, I didn't get to go last year due to various things happening. I have a nice chemise and a good hoopskirt if I want to go something higher than peasant level. What I need is the outfit to go on top of these undergarments... plus an Elizabethan corset might be nice too. May attempt to drag Wonderful Husband with me, but only once.
Costume Con, April 25th-28th - have no idea what to expect of this one, never having been before, but have my membership. Need to book a room.
hoshikage seems to think I can/should compete in the Fantasy/Sci-Fi Masquerade, and pointed out I have a few good options on my wishlist for this. One of the historical Chiis, perhaps, or maybe one of the Nene Thomas fairies I still want to do? I would also kind of like to get a set of Victorian undergarments worked up for the Friday Night Social. And, if I want to be truly insane, I can always dream about entering one of the Single Pattern contests.
Fanime, May 23rd-26th - two things planned. Am part of
racerxmachina's Kyoshi Army group from Avatar (which, thanks to
hoshikage, I now have the first season of to watch), and I need to finish the pair of FFT costumes I have been working on at a glacial pace for Wonderful Husband and myself.
Anime Expo, July 3rd-6th - planning to go, if only for a day. Should do something for competition, maybe, but don't know what. Especially since most of the normal suspects/costuming partners won't be present. Solo sucks; means there's no one to hang with backstage. Hmm; possibly King and Queen of Hearts...?
San Diego Comic Con, July 24th-27th - again, planning to go but no real plans. Last year I watched the Masquerade for the first time and it didn't seem as scary (at least from the audience side) as I'd heard. Have had a vague plotbunny for a couple of years of maybe doing an Agatha (from Girl Genius) costume, maybe just for hall. Would need to convince Wonderful Husband to be Gil, though....
Costume College, August 1st-3rd - have membership, need to wrangle out room reservations. This one's fairly low-key for me, and is basically just an excuse to learn and wear hall costumes around. Might see about putting something in the costume exhibit again. If I did the Time Traveler's Gala, the theoretical Tinkerbell ballgown might be nifty. But that's a big "if," as I haven't gone before and don't know anyone....
Yaoi-Con, sometime in October - can't find dates for the con yet, but
hoshikage thinks this would be a good target for the Ouran costume set....
