I generally don't do fic recommendations. This is for a couple of reasons. One, I read a lot of fanfiction. A LOT. Two, I doubt my own standards, meaning that I have a much higher opinion of the tastes and intellects of the people (friends) who read this journal than I have of my own. Three, my fandoms are all over the place and there aren't a whole lot of people I know interested in most of them. Therefore, I tend to leave fic recommending to people like [livejournal.com profile] thefourthvine, [livejournal.com profile] rec_a_day and The RCK. They all recommend really good stuff.

That said, it's not often in one day that I get a double whammy of [Transformers] fics that really push my buttons. The first is a note-perfect Rodimus fic that I'm mentioning here because I think [livejournal.com profile] hoshikage needs to read it and I'll forget to tell her otherwise: Spark's Oath. Metroplex gets bonus points in this one, IMO. The other, though, is the one which really gets me because it's a fic which has just completely obliterated my need to write "Earthborn." Granted, I was going to use the Dinobots and the writer used the Protectobots, but every single thing I would have touched on has been done in this, and done better than I think I could've: In the Old Country. Yay for my plotbunny being killed off and made into hassenpfeffer!
