Projects 'n' Stuff
May. 14th, 2007 02:17 pmBeing that it is Monday, aka The Day The Phones Ring Off The Hook, I've been at my desk all day thus far, taking care of all my backlogged paperwork in between answering phones and lots of runs up and down the stairs for filing, for mailing, for use of the photocopier. Now that I've had lunch and am on my second mug of tea for the day, I might actually be said to be something resembling awake. Got something like eight hours of sleep; unfortunately, unlike Saturday night, it did not contain semi-coherent Ultraman Moebius dreams, and does not seem to have been enough.
My quasi-awake brain is on one of my non-writing tangents at the moment (actually, it's on a writing tangent too, but that consists of convincing Godai and Ichijou that whatever they want to do off-camera is just fine, but that I want "Afterwards" to be a PG-13 fic), partially involving planning out dinner (leftover French Herb chicken; roast parsnips; whole wheat French bread if I remember to stop at the store after work; vanilla and strawberry ice creams with quartered strawberries on top), partially involving which area of the house to tackle cleaning tonight (current winners: bedroom, upstairs floors, and under the bathroom sinks), but mostly involving sewing. Part of me says, I've been good and did up two yukata in four days, can I take a break and work on something else? I have those two aprons I want to cut out, after all, and that dress pattern I need to figure out by this weekend. But part of me also says I only have the obi left to do, and that's just a big rectangle, right, so that should be pretty quick and easy.... I have the feeling the dress will win, as that's the project with the most immediate timeline. So, store, home, dishes, dress layout. Wonderful Husband was clever and left the leaf in the dining table, so that makes pattern layout much easier--no kitty walking on the fabric.
One small thing that I do like about the sewing I've been doing, though: Wonderful Husband and I have run out five spools of thread so far. This is a very good thing, as I have lots and lots of spools (whole and partial both) of inherited thread, more than my five thread racks can hold. Using them up is a good thing....
