Well, today I woke up and turned the computer on and read lj. And lo, [livejournal.com profile] sandpanther had posted from Japan! And there was much rejoicing, even if I could not read one of her posts yet because it dealt with Ultraman Moebius 34. And I checked the usual suspect at ZettaiToku only to find the torrent was not yet available. And so I went back to bed and snuggled a bit longer with my wonderful, warm husband. But then, lo, he did rise from the bed, and being grumpy at being deprived of my source of warmth and snuggles, I did also rise and face the day. And wait for the torrent. And wait more for the torrent. And finally the torrent did appear! Only for me to discover that I had a two-hour wait, new time restrictions having been put in overnight for those whose share ratio was less than 100% (mine is 91%). And so the torrent was placed in a queue behind something else and I did go to the mall of shopping (or, at least, the JoAnn's of shopping... #2, since the one closest to me didn't have anything I wanted last night) and partake in seasonal activities, such as the purchasing of quilt batting and the pattern and fabric for [livejournal.com profile] pattern_jam's first challenge. But upon returning home, I discovered that ZettaiToku had crashed before I got the torrent! And there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth, and my pain was terrible to behold, despite the time being well used in clearing 1-7 of Death Note off my to-watch list. And then, like an angel from the heavens, [livejournal.com profile] hoshikage did descend, her sweet voice telling me that did I wish the torrent, she had in her possession a copy. And many were the praises sung to her and her husband, for they gave unto me the file, and lo, I knew bliss....

FINALLY we see the team acting in a manner that says "hey, y'all, we know Mirai's secret and we're actually using it intelligently!" Though I have to say, pulling guns on Gen just because he was taking a philosophically different stance from Mirai? Um, guys, you KNOW he's Leo, what are you thinking?! And, yeah, have to agree with [livejournal.com profile] sandpanther that Mirai's probably going a little bit too far in the "must train alone/do not rely upon the assistance of others" thing. I need to rewatch and count how many Sacrificial Wooden Posts [tm] he'd kicked through, though, just for my own amusement. Because Mirai really is not a slouch in the martial arts department at all, though I doubt the writers will ever give us my coveted Mirai-sparring-with-Ryuu scene (since we do know that Ryuu practices judo as well as boxing). Oh, and Ryuu? Was SO in whatever Japan's version of Boy Scouts is. And Teppei, obviously, was not. ^^;; Glad to see the writers are going with the "you've never tried this food before, have you?" thing that our group realized. Means we're on track. I was slightly disappointed that the one scene from the last episode's preview of Gen teaching Mirai how to fight was not actually in the episode. But [livejournal.com profile] sandpanther was right again in pointing out the Ultra "oniisan" thing in Moebius is the brothers-in-arms sense rather than the blood relationship sense, since Leo is from a different planet from the rest of the Ultra Brothers and Mirai still addresses him that way (and he addresses Tarou that way). Though given that this is Mirai, I'm not sure the different type of relationship really matters to him. I get the feeling that for him, oniisan is oniisan is oniisan. Oh, also, Reflect? Is a monster that can talk. In complete, comprehensive sentences. This spins my head around because it's so weird. But yay for double Ultra Brothers Attack! And next episode, Hikari returns! Which looks to be totally awesome because Ryuu ends up with guns pointed at him and I really want to know how that happens. Plus Hikari is just an awesome character in general.

Yapool talked too. Though admitted it did it through proxies.

Ryuu gets guns pointed at him? Darn, I missed that! *wants copy to rewatch*

Am in the process of confirming that Ultra Chichi, Seven, Zoffy plus a couple of others are not actually blood related. Have a comic, Ultra Zero or something that has back story on how Hikari no Kuni was created. Recent vintage, looks to be published in 2005 with at least 4 volumes confirmed. Will be dragging back, am contemplating translating.

Finally found a bookstore that acknowledges the existance of Ultraman outside of the kids' section. Managed to not look through the books not once but twice. (Once, lack of food. Second time, store closed. Rar!) Will go back later, since there are at least two books I want to grab.

Ryuu offering to help Mirai in training did remind me of that scene from your fic. :) Though it would be cool to see Ryuu and Mirai sparring in canon.

Want to see the first several minutes of the episode. Missed it, since I didn't know what channel it was on.

Oh, when the guys pulled guns on Gen did they know he was Leo? I thought that Teppei figured it out after they had pulled weapons. ... For a minute I thought that Mirai didn't know who he was and was somewhat fussed that the writers violated the "all aliens recognize each other" thing. Fortunately, all was well and I was just impatient.

Babbling...

Do you happen to know how Zettaitoku tracks one's sharing anyway? Is it just for the given torrent that one is downloading, or is it a cumulative thing?

Ooh, that comic sounds most nifty! As does the possibility of books in that bookstore.

It actually sounds like you missed almost none of the episode. It starts in the middle of the fight with Reflect with Moebius' color timer already red.

The guys actually pulled guns on Gen twice--once before they knew who he was, and once after when they thought he was being a threat to Mirai. *rolls eyes* Good to know that they're not completely done with being idiots.

Cumulative. When you click on your account, you can click to see your stats, too. So whenever the site gets back up, I plan to put 34 on infinite seeding for a few days to get up over 100%....

Will probably be translating comic (in my copious spare time.) It puts a slightly different slant on... well, a bunch of things. Certainly all of Mirai's comment about the history of his people. "It wasn't a power we were seeking" indeed. (Don't remember the Japanese, bad me.) Am going to pick up the rest of the series, since it's on a publisher that I don't see in the States.

It's sweet that the guys want to help back up Mirai. But really, what did they think they were going to accomplish if they tried to shoot Leo. If nothing else Teppei should bonk them upside the head.

*thanks my lucky stars that I tend to leave torrents open until I've distributed at least two copies*
