Just Keep Sewing
Feb. 21st, 2014 05:55 pmHaving little written down in my planner for today ("edit 3 stories for class"), I've been tackling the mending/WIP pile. Thus far I've mended a ripped dress, a ripped skirt, fixed loose seams on a baby boy nightie, sewn a hook and eye onto a refashioned skirt, and mended trousers whose side seam had come loose. (Me: Take off your trousers. Wonderful Husband: What? Me: I'm not letting you go to the doctor's office like that. Strip.)
Six items remain: another ripped skirt, a skirt whose beadwork needs repair, a handbag needing a cloth bead fix, a sofa cover needing a hem, a handkerchief needing its hem finished, and a bedsheet needing corners, a hem, and elastic.
Then, of course, there are things like a half-finished corset, a half-finished half-cloak... but those are in another pile, for another time.
Once I finish slogging through this pile, I will allow myself to start new projects. Like trousers for the infant that will actually fit nicely over his diaper.
