Yay, my glucose test came back normal! Which means I don't have gestational diabetes. Which is good, because I have at least four factors that make me more likely to: I'm over 35, overweight, have a family history of diabetes, and am having a large baby. (The ultrasound nurse said he/she/it is currently presenting as developmentally about two weeks ahead of schedule.)

I've been spending the day putting things back on the shelving unit like an inverse Jenga puzzle. I know I've successfully made more room because I was able to add the yarn box to the shelves. I also did a cursory riffle through my patterns and pulled a couple dozen to go to the Bazaar, but didn't get rid of nearly as many as I could've/should've. Still, the bookcase and the sewing dummy will be able to take their new home as of this evening. Hooray for progress!

Had enough energy to cook this evening (currently I'm averaging something like one day out of five) so I pulled out Fine Cooking and actually made larb. It's not in our usual set of flavors - nam pla (fish sauce) + cilantro + mint flavor combo - but it grew on me. Unfortunately, not so much for Wonderful Husband. Ah well.

And in about twenty minutes, we're actually going to the movies! And catching Iron Man 3 before it leaves the cinemas. Yes, we're that far behind on summer blockbusters. ^_^

ETA: Was NO parking available at the cinema showing Iron Man 3. So we went to another cinema, which was showing Star Trek at a convenient time. We both enjoyed it, but I think Wonderful Husband, who has at best blurry memories of the first six films, enjoyed it somewhat better than I did. I kept getting distracted by recognizing all the different scenes/motifs they were referencing. Not to mention all the scenes shot at the Getty.... :)
