Last weekend, we got a new china cabinet at an estate sale. It's very 1980s style (there's a black grease pencil notation on the back that dates it to 1988, in fact), but it's bigger and handsomer than our old one, and matches the dining set remarkably well. Part of my activities last weekend involved, after it had been put in place, moving our dishes into it.

This activity was only half-done when I was admitted to the hospital. And Wonderful Husband was far too worried and stressed about me to do much more than keep the cats fed and watered. So most of our glassware has been sitting on various counters the last week, awaiting its winnowing and move. Because a good chunk of it, we don't use. When we don't drink wine, do we really need a dozen wine glasses across two different sizes? No we do not, so half of them are going to Goodwill. Likewise, I sat down and sorted out about half of our tea light holders this morning.

But I'm stubbornly hanging on to my tea cups! Eventually, I'm hoping to get small hooks put in the top of the cabinet and just hang the cups from those. And now that we have more room, I pulled out the smallish boxes of china and crockery from the back bedroom, and devoted a third of a shelf to our Japanese dishes.

Our coffee mugs, which we use for tea, though, still need to get thinned out. I have a couple fannish ones I'll offer up here. Anyone want a Gromit mug? His nose turns color when he's filled with hot liquid. I also have the Gankutsuou mug from AX a few years back, never used....
