Pounded Flat
Apr. 21st, 2013 08:48 pmYesterday, Wonderful Husband and I did a bit of faffing about the yard, then went to Little Tokyo (lunch) followed by the "A Century of Cotton" and "Art of Motion Picture Costume Design - 2012" exhibits at the FIDM museum. On our way back home we also browsed a very nice furniture store, looking for a couple of pieces we want to buy. Pricey stuff, but oh so nice, with such gorgeous construction....
Today was the heavy lifting day. We borrowed my parents' truck, got solid wood oak countertops from Ikea, as well as a few trifles, sundries, and bookcase doors. After wrestling that all into the house, we went to Lowe's, where we got a new ceiling fan to replace the one in the back bedroom (which has, shall we say, substandard lighting), and new railings and doors to replace the (broken) sliding doors for the hallway closet. Then we dropped a VHS storage unit off at Goodwill, together with the bicycle that magically appeared in our backyard several weeks ago. Also in there somewhere was a browse through Michael's, where we acquired picture hanging wire, and two Minecraft posters. ^_^
Thus, I am now totally wiped out and thankful that household incidentals (dishes, laundry, making bread) got done this morning. And Wonderful Husband has just informed me that my new tins of tea from Spice Traders now carry nut cross-contamination warnings. WTF?!
