Needing another weekend, please...

Still waiting for heat abatement. :) Nonetheless, Wonderful Husband and I went to the LA fabric district on Saturday, in search of curtains material for both bedrooms and the office. Which we found, for $NotCheap. Que sera sera. And I love the fabric district, really I do, but the two-hours-there versus four-hours-recovering thing was a bit ridiculous.

Sunday ended up an exercise in Getting Stuff Done. Which included sweeping the floors, which I hadn't done in a few months due to stressing over other things. My god I could not believe how much dust and cat hair had accumulated! I also did garden work. The garlic did pathetic this year, the onions not much better. I got two-thirds of the way through pulling out the first round of tomato plants. And, despite the heat, I roasted the cherry tomatoes with garlic, and squash plain unto itself, and baked bread. Tonight, hopefully, the squash gets turned into pie, and other tomatoes go into jars. Because ripe things don't wait for the weather to cool for me to put them up.

Deus Ex Machina Update

You know you're having fun writing a story when you get to drag lines from both David Bowie and Walt Whitman into it. ^_^ Not in the same scene - the latter's going to wait for Mirage's PoV to come up. But Bowie I've written into the first scene, which follows on directly from the end of chapter 8.
