Saturday was lazyish. Possibly because it was hot. Farmer's market and editing.

Sunday was a degree or two cooler and so got the to-do list written up. Which was longish, but got mostly done. A major point of accomplishment is that we finally got towel bars put up in the shower room. Three-plus years after moving in. ^_^;; No one can say we are prompt about minor home improvements. Also the skychairs got brought out, scrubbed, and hung in the backyard. And I separated out the leeks and put them into the ground. Unfortunately, the only open spaces were in dryish spots; I'll need to hand-water the leeks until they get established. Plus I got about halfway through writing up the handout for the petticoat class. I need to figure out how to involve clipart and lineart....

Two day workweek, obligatory family party, another two day workweek, and then writer's retreat weekend. Must get stuff done!

So if the term "trepanning" means "drilling a hole into someone's head," then the surname "Trepanier," which I have just come across in work paperwork, contains certain information about what the person's ancestor did for a living.... ^_^;;

ETA: Thinking on it, this surname so amuses/enchants me that I think I've just found the family name for my doctor character in Field of Stars.... :)

So when we went to Lowe's over the weekend for Wonderful Husband to get a last few things for his class and for me to get four handles for the cabinet (which previously had two handles), we got asked by three sales associates if we needed help.

Tonight, going back to get screws that were actually long enough to put the handles on the cabinet doors, I could not find a one. And when I managed to find the magical "summon sales associate" button, it took forever for her to arrive and she knew nothing about screws.

There's something related to Murphy in that balance, I think....

Eventually I figured out what I needed; the cabinet now has handles. The shower room still looks a wreck, of course, but at least it now has its hardware in place.

Editing tonight leaves me at 563/605 and word count 120,191. Chapter 22 is done and things are starting to get tied up &/or set up for Field of Stars.
