I have unexpectedly sensitive feet. Some mornings, particularly after lots of standing or vigorous exercise the day before, this means that my walking around the house is a motion best described as "stumping." Or, other days, limping.

I have long had an old pair of thrift store sandals that are cushioned enough to alleviate this condition. However, they are a bit ratty looking, and not appropriate for an office regardless. Which is why Wonderful Husband's discovery of the Clarks outlet at The Citadel was a revelation. Even outlet priced and on sale on top of that, the shoes aren't cheap. But they're designed so that for the first time in my life I can wear shoes of a 2"+ rise, and also so that on days like today, I'm able to walk sans limp.

Totally worth the cost.

Finished pickling the beets tonight, and edited twenty pages. Ten for class, ten for me. Kept wanting to throw one particular set of comments for the latter across the room. Was she even reading what I'd written? Why did she want me to take my writing style and turn it into something pedestrian? I do not owe it to anyone to dumb down my writing!

Grr.

Leaving off for the night at 125,072 words, somewhere in chapter ten, and on page 199/619.
