The List, She Is Long
Aug. 21st, 2011 12:50 pmMy usual wake-up time is 7am. On Sundays (the only day I don't have to get up then), I usually end up waking up by 7:30 anyway. Today was no exception.
Thus far: reorganized the freezer, decanted the roasted tomatoes in one-cup measures and frozen them, stemmed, washed and frozen yesterday's haul of jalepenos and habeneros, made sourdough bread, cleaned the catbox, swept the house, and helped Wonderful Husband put another half-dozen slats on our new gate.
Wonderful Husband, meantime, has been doing work work, and also started the laundry, which led to the discovery that the kitchen/laundry drain is blocked and overflowing again, as it tends to do every eight or so months. So he has called Roto-Rooter, who will come out and take care of this for us tomorrow morning. So no more laundry today, I guess. I need to decide how this impacts the rest of my cooking plans for today (zucchini bread, pickling cucumbers, canning tomatoes, juicing oranges, making lemonade concentrate, and making plov for dinner), since all of those will require washing up afterwards. Fortunately all the outdoors stuff-to-do remains unaffected....
