Mumm-Ra = Palpatine, duh.
Aug. 19th, 2011 09:03 pmThis episode was... kind of disappointing, actually. I'm developing a theory that, like Star Trek movies, only every other episode of ThunderCats is actually good.
There were some bits that amused me: the fact that Panthro's hair is in a samurai topknot. The reference to General Lynx-O. The "This isn't going to go well." "Nope." dialogue. And all the many, many moments that were visual references to the original Star Wars trilogy.
But, honestly? Too much flashback clumsily inserted. Too obvious as to the who's in charge power struggle. Written too on the nose. And what were the ThunderKittens up to all that time the others were gone?
(Also, unrelatedly, any theories as to why Kit and Kat have tails but the others don't? Is it a noble/peasant thing, a peculiarity of their clan, something vaguely disturbing like Loveless...?)
