With Wonderful Husband's help, before dark I managed to get eight more tomato plants and four more pepper plants put in the ground (yay for fall 'maters!), the bare earth covered with straw, and everything in the solanum family watered with heavily diluted fish emulsion. I'm coming to the conclusion that watering with the stuff on a biweekly basis, stinky though it may be, has vastly improved my tomato and pepper production this year.

I have also signed up for a dairy/cheesemaking class at Sur La Table later this month. It's one of the skills I've been wanting to pick up. That and charcuterie, which I think I'm going to slate for next year.

Still haven't made that salsa; I think I'll push that to tomorrow, and focus on finishing the sewing project tonight, now that I've finally got thread that actually matches.
