SoCal in Summer

It's one of those summer days where the sky is gray but the light is brown. The humidity is high but it will not rain. Instead, only pinprick droplets land on windshields, white in the dirty light but so small that the wipers only smear them. The smell of wet asphalt rises from the streets.

It's going to be a long, dreary day.
