Saturday of Shopping and Shipping

Went to a couple of mattress stores this morning and tried out beds. We have three forerunners, ranging from ~$650 to ~$1500 including delivery. Given that the mattress we sleep on is inherited and probably in the area of 20 years old, any of the three will be a vast improvement and I'll be happy with them. Stopped in at Costco (where Wonderful Husband was informed yet again that I am NOT buying a Costco mattress because I refuse to sleep on something I can't try laying on in the store) and ended up buying a Bartlett pear tree in a 2-gallon pot for $12. Possibly the cheapest we've ever gotten out of there! And he is off getting fitted inserts for his skates and then ice skating for a bit, and I've boxed up and shipped off the last of the BotCon toys I bought for people who were not me.

And somehow I've managed to kill another African violet, and this time I don't know how.

Time to do kitcheny and gardeny things and poke at fics in my head.

Went to look at (expensive!) home type showroom. ($70K kitchen was very pretty.) Everything there was totally out of our price range.

Came home. Wonderful Husband washed dishes while I started dinner going. Cleared off table. Wandered over to backdoor to open it for a breeze in the house.

Noticed that Paris (B&W kitty) has a huge chunk of missing hair on her chest.

Vet is closed for the day and not open tomorrow.

Praying it's just something like a heat rash. Trying not to panic.
