Columbus Day (Celebrated)
Oct. 11th, 2010 09:57 pmSince my company is dependent upon the government to be open for business in order to file paperwor, I get government holidays off.
I spent today's helping my mother help my sister pack for her move up to the Seattle area.
(The movers are showing up at 8am tomorrow to take away the boxes and furniture.)
The less said about the day, probably the better.
On the way home, I engaged in minor retail therapy in the shape of groceries, and at the thrift store a smaller slow cooker which is earmarked for hot cereal breakfasts*, a fabulous skirt, a nice pair of work shoes, and a nifty belt.
(*High blood pressure = doctor has me on a low sodium diet and bejaysus, I'd never realized how much sodium was EVERYWHERE. Fast food, for instance, is now totally out. Even plain breakfast cereal has a good whock of sodium in it. Oatmeal and multi-grain cereal, on the other hand....)
